The engineer behind the interfaces.

I'm Kunal Patel, a senior frontend engineer based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. I care about frontend architecture that scales, interfaces that feel obvious in hindsight, and performance budgets that keep engineers honest.

Outside of product work, I founded and run JavaScript Gujarat, a community where frontend developers learn from each other in person. The best way to get better at this craft is still to talk to people doing it.

What I value

Craft over shortcuts: Every pixel and every render matters. I'd rather ship a smaller feature done right than a large one done fast and forgotten.
Systems, not one-offs: I design components and patterns that scale across a product, not just the screen in front of me.
Performance is a feature: Speed isn't an afterthought. It's budgeted, measured, and defended in code review like any other requirement.
Teach what you learn: Founding JavaScript Gujarat taught me that the fastest way to deepen your own understanding is to explain it to someone else.

Community

Founder & Co-Organizer, JavaScript Gujarat
Building a regional developer community for JavaScript, React, and Next.js through meetups, speaker sessions, and knowledge-sharing events.

Off the clock

Founded JavaScript Gujarat and have hosted 20+ community meetups
Automated my morning coffee routine with a Raspberry Pi (over-engineering, guilty)
Reviewed 500+ pull requests in the last year alone
Once debugged a production incident from a moving train with 2-bar signal

Currently learning

Rust for high-performance tooling
Advanced React Server Components patterns
WebGPU for the next generation of web graphics
